For that reason we use only the best parts available and ensure that all of our technicians are at the top of their game with weekly training sessions. Our number one priority is getting your device back to you in full working order as quickly as possible so that you can get back to your work and your life. Above all we instill in our technicians to treat each repair as if they are repairing their own device.
Repair Timing
Most devices we receive for mail-in repair are repaired within 24 hours of receiving it and immediately repackaged and mailed back to you so you can get back to work or play quickly with minimal downtime.
How long will I be without my device?
It depends on the device, the repair service needed and how far you are located from our repair facility. The average customer has their device back in their hands in 4 days. It is possible to have your device back in as little as two days.
How long does a repair take?
We complete most repairs and return ship your repaired device back to you the same day we receive them. Since it is not possible to complete all repairs within that time window we strive to get any standard repairs completed within 24-48 hours of delivery. Although some repairs, especially those that require diagnosis may take even longer.
Where are the repairs completed?
We do all of our repairs in-house at our repair facility in Philadelphia.
Who completes the repairs?
Our repairs are completed by one of our highly trained technicians. All of our technicians receive extensive training prior to handling a customer’s device. Before each device leaves our facility it is thoroughly tested and inspected before being shipped back to you.
What kind of training and experience do they have?
Our team of in-house technicians receive extensive training before ever handling a customers device. Technicians continue to receive training throughout the year and each time a new device is released. We have a small, highly skilled team of technicians that have been working together for at a minimum of four years.
Warranty
What type of warranty is offered for repairs?
All Smart Spot Technology repairs are backed by a warranty. Most repair services come with a 1 year. This warranty guarantees both the replacement part or parts and the repair.
Repair Selection
My device has multiple issues, can you repair them all?
Yes we can. If your device has multiple issues that need to be repaired, simply select the most expensive repair (usually glass/LCD repair) and also select the “Free Diagnosis.” We will then diagnose your device and discount additional repairs, confirming the price with the device owner prior to repair.
Is there a fee if my device is deemed unrepairable?
No, if your device is deemed unrepairable, you will be notified and your device will be sent back free of charge. Shipping fees for sending the damaged device to Smart Spot Technology cannot be refunded.
Do you repair liquid damaged phones?
We generally avoid repairing badly liquid damaged devices. While it is possible to repair a liquid damaged device the success rate is low and the future functionality is unpredictable. We can however attempt to recover your data.
Can you try to recover the data off of my device?
Yes. If your device is damaged beyond repair we can attempt a data recovery. This service will cost $90-$150 if successful. A $30 non-refundable fee will be charged up front to pay for the technicians time in attempting a data recovery.
How do I know my data is safe with you?
You can trust that your data is safe with us. Simply understand that your trust is our livelihood therefore we will treat your data like our own data. That means we will ensure it is safe and secure at all times. Since most of our services are hardware-related, the devices are powered up only to test functionality post repair. Devices are never backed-up by Smart Spot Technology and customer data is never accessed unless we have received specific permission from the customer to do so. We take this responsibility very seriously and will not waiver when it comes to protecting our customers data.
Do you buy broken and damaged devices?
Yes we do. At the moment we are building out the website to include a buyback program that would allow customers to receive a price quote immediately from their laptop or mobile device.
I tried to repair my damaged device myself but can't complete the repair, can you help?
Yes we can absolutely help if you were unable to complete the repair yourself. Simply select the repair service needed or select “Free Diagnosis” and check out. Then gather up all the parts, package them safely and securely and ship to us. In the event the device is unrepairable we will provide a refund for the price of the repair and ship your device back.

Should I backup my device before sending it to Smart Spot Technology for Repair?
Yes. We recommend that you back your device up before shipping it to us. While it is highly unlikely a device would be damaged and data would be lost during a repair, there is always a small chance of shipping loss or damage that is completely out of our control. Better safe than sorry in this situation.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards as well as payments through PayPal. For businesses, school districts and qualified customers, we accept purchase orders with Net payment terms. (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.)
Pricing
What are your prices based on?
Our prices are based on several factors, primarily the price we pay for the replacement part and the time it takes to repair your device. While our prices are very competitive they may appear high when compared to repair shops using low-quality parts to repair your device.
What’s different about the replacement parts Smart Spot Tech uses?
The replacement parts used by Smart Spot Technology for all repair services are the highest quality replacement parts available. As a result some of our competitors may be able to offer lower repair pricing. We choose to not compete on price and have a simple outlook on the quality of replacement parts. If we wouldn’t want to put it in our own iPhone, iPad or Macbook or game console we would never put it in one of our customers’ devices.
Why does replacement part quality matter so much?
The device repair industry has introduced a wide range of quality when it comes to replacement parts. Unfortunately these parts may appear the same to the untrained eye but in many cases will not function as advertised and could even cause additional damage to the device.
How can you be sure your parts are the best quality?
We test and inspect each replacement part when we receive it and again after it has been installed to ensure it meets our quality standards. Even then we extend that to all of our customers a minimum 90-day warranty on every repair service we offer.
What MacBook models do you repair?
We offer repair services for the MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Pro Retina, and MacBook Air models.
Macbook Repairs
What MacBook repair services do you offer?
We offer glass, LCD, and full unit repairs on MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Pro Retina, and MacBook Air.
Can slightly bent corners and small dents be fixed on the MacBook display assembly?
We will attempt to bend back and/or reshape the case at no additional charge, but assemblies with severe damage cannot be repaired.
iPad Repairs
If the back case of the iPad is slightly bent, can that be fixed?
We will attempt to bend back and/or reshape the case, but some severe damage won’t be repairable due to the glass and/or LCD not sitting flush after the repair.
If my iPad has a case, do I need to remove it before sending it in for repair?
We would prefer that you remove your case but since you are responsible for the device until we receive it. If you feel more comfortable leaving the case on you are welcome to do so.
Preparing for Shipment
What should I send with my broken device?
Please send the damaged device(s) and the Order Packing Slip sent to your email.
Should I send the power cord with my MacBook?
No. Please do not send us your power cord.
Shipping
Do you offer free shipping on repairs?
All customers receive free UPS Ground return shipping. If you need a faster service, you have the ability to upgrade your shipping service on the website at an additional cost. The customer is responsible for shipping their device to us. Discounted shipping rates are offered at check-out, or customers can purchase their own shipping label.
Why do I have to pay to ship my device to you?
While Smart Spot Technology offers free return shipping on all repairs we cannot provide free shipping to our facility due to cost constraints. Most online businesses require shipping from the supplier to the customer only. Smart Spot Technology is different in that the customer must send their device to us first. In some cases the devices we receive are unrepairable and must be sent back to the customer, who also receives a full refund for the price of the repair. In this situation we used our supplies, our technicians time and paid for return shipping. Not only do we make no profit but we actually lose money when this happens. As a result we simply ask that the customer pay to ship their device to us, so that in the unlikely event that it is unrepairable, our losses are kept to a minimum.
Do you provide shipping boxes to send in repairs?
We provide boxes and bubble wrap at the customer’s request. If you need shipping supplies to send in your repair simply select from one of the “Send Me A Box” shipping options at checkout. We do not charge the customer for the shipping supplies, only the shipping fees associated with sending the supplies.
Can I send multiple repairs in one box?
Yes, if you have multiple repairs we would actually prefer that you send them in a single box. Please make sure everything is secured and packaged safely with bubble wrap.
Why do I have to remove my case before shipping?
We prefer that you remove your case prior to shipping for several reasons. It adds extra weight and requires additional space inside the box. This can be an issue since shipping fees are based on the weight of each device and boxes provided by Smart Spot Technology are based on the size of the device and do not account for cases. Additionally, once your device arrives at our facility we must now remove the case, tag it so it doesn’t get separated from the device, store it and replace on your device prior to shipping back to you. All this extra time adds up and slows down the process of getting your device back to you fast.
Is my shipment insured?
Yes. Any shipping label purchased through Smart Spot Technology includes insurance. We also include insurance on all return shipments so your device is insured after the repair as well. If you select the “Self-Ship” option when sending in your device we highly recommend adding shipping insurance. It is very important to recognize that Smart Spot Technology is not responsible for your device until it arrives at our facility. Any damage incurred during shipping is covered by shipping insurance only, Smart Spot Technology cannot be held responsible for shipping damage.
What happens if my device is damaged in the mail?
This does not happen very often and can be avoided by using the proper shipping supplies and packing your device according to our packing and shipping guidelines. [Add Link] Since your shipment will be insured by the delivery service you would be responsible for filing a claim, you would then receive a payment for the value of the device. When you purchase shipping through Smart Spot Technology you will always be covered for the full amount through the selected carrier. If you select the self-ship option be sure to declare the full amount of your device when purchasing shipping insurance.

Will I be notified when my device has shipped?
Yes, you will receive a tracking confirmation email when your device has shipped.
